Children’s University

Sheffield Children’s University (CU) encourages and celebrates participation in learning opportunities outside school. Waterthorpe School is a Children’s University subscriber and children will earn CU credits for all extra-curricular activities attended.

We record attendance for Morning Clubs, After-School Clubs and Rock Steady Music lessons. The register for these is submitted to the CU each term.

Well done to our Autumn term  special Award winner, Laney, who has achieved 162 additional hours of learning. Laney received her award at the City Hall for the 100th Awards Ceremony Celebrations.

Children do not need a passport to collect credits for activities at school but they do need one for out of school activities. These are available from the library for a small cost.

Below is a list of providers that are registered with the CU. If you go to any sessions by these providers please take your passport with you. If your provider is not on the list you can request that they become a CU provider at no cost to themselves. They would need to contact the CU team or you can email and ask the CU team to invite your provider to join.
